Mass – the amount of matter in an object.

Kilogram (kg) – basic unit of mass in the metric system and is represented by lowercase kg.

Standard:  One kilogram is equal to the mass of the International Prototype Kilogram, a platinum-iridium cylinder kept by the BIPM at Sevres, France.
